Jennifer K. Lafferty, who has also written under the name Jennifer Leigh Wells, is the author of Movie Dynasty Princesses; Knight of the Purple Ribbon; Anne of the Thousand Days: The Making of an Epic; The Many Faces of Jane Eyre; Songbird of Culpeper County and more. Her fiction has appeared in magazines such as The Storyteller and Deep South Magazine. She has written articles for a number of publications including MORE; Divine Caroline; Fitness & Physique; and Stack News.

Jennifer has explored a number of different genres including: film history, biography, historical fiction and romance.

 

With her love of music, Jennifer is often drawn to writing stories set in the music world like her novel Songbird of Culpeper County, and novelette The Balladeer's Muse, inspired by the artistry of her favorite singer/songwriters such as Peter Allen and Clive Westlake.

 

Many of her books and short stories have a personal connection to Jennifer's life or family history such as Knight of the Purple Ribbon, which is partially based on the story of her ancestor, Baron Christoph de Graffenried, who founded historic New Bern, North Carolina.

 

As a lifelong cinephile, Jennifer has also enjoyed writing about classic Hollywood with her dual biography of Irene Selznick and Edith Goetz titled Movie Dynasty Princesses, as well as her behind-the-scenes books on the filming of Anne of the Thousand Days and Jane Eyre.
